The Physicochemical, Antioxidant, and Color Properties of Thin Films Based on Chitosan Modified by Different Phenolic Acids

Chitosan-based films are promising for consideration as packaging materials. In this study, we modified the chitosan by phenolic acid addition, such ferulic acid, caffeic tannic and gallic acid. The mechanical thermal properties were studied, water vapor permeability rate was determined. Moreover, antioxidant activity film color considered. results showed that acids effective cross-linkers chitosan. addition of improved decreased roughness surfaces. enthalpy value lower with than pure Chitosan highest value. Based on obtained results, determined from chitosan/ferulic mixture most use material.
